Teniendo en cuenta el alcance m\u00e1ximo del radar de exploraci\u00f3n del director de tiro Sky Guard es de 16 Km. y suponiendo que no exista ning\u00fan tipo de desnivel en el terreno que provoque \u00e1ngulos muertos o zonas ciegas de exploraci\u00f3n, y que adem\u00e1s el Harrier vuele a m\u00e1s de 50 m de altitud, \u00e9ste s\u00f3lo podr\u00eda ser detectado a los 16 Km.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El tiempo\n que volando a 300 m\/s tarda en recorrer esta distancia es de 53,3 \nsegundos (menos de un minuto); pero en este tiempo el Harrier estar\u00eda \nsobre la posici\u00f3n y ser\u00eda demasiado tarde para combatirlo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La distancia m\u00e1xima desde la cual se puede abrir fuego sobre el aparato, es la de 4 Km. de distancia del director de tiro, siempre y cuando la \u201cadquisici\u00f3n\u201d y el seguimiento del blanco (avi\u00f3n) por medio del radar se haya iniciado, dos o tres segundos antes que la m\u00e1quina enemiga alcance esta distancia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As\u00ed que los tiempos se ven reducidos de la siguiente manera: vuelo desde los 16 Km. hasta los 4 Km., 40 segundos, menos 3 segundos necesarios para la \u201cadquisici\u00f3n y seguimiento\u201d representan 37 segundos, y esto en condiciones ideales, que no eran precisamente las de Malvinas.
